Kaiji Press interviews DryDel CEO, Costas Delaportas

Costas Delaportas, CEO of DryDel Shipping, conveyed to Kaiji Press the company’s continued commitment to maintaining and expanding its fleet with Japan-built vessels.

DryDel currently owns 12 Japanese-built bulk carriers with an average age below 4 years, and has 10 additional newbuildings on order – ranging from Handysize to Capesize. Additionally, it operates around 45 vessels across the global dry bulk trades.

According to Delaportas, “Japan-built vessels remain a key pillar of our fleet strategy, and we look forward to continuing our close cooperation with Japanese partners.” He also emphasized the company’s strong relationships with Japanese trading houses and financial institutions, adding, “Our approach is focused on building long-term, relationship-driven cooperation in Japan – not only for vessels, but also for capital and chartering opportunities.”
