DryDel Expands into the 82,000 DWT KAMSARMAX Segment with two TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Newbuildings.
We are pleased to announce that DryDel has signed contracts with the TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING for two new 82K DWT KAMSARMAX vessels, scheduled for future delivery.
The addition of the 82K DWT KAMSARMAX to our newbuilding programme reflects our view of where we see attractive opportunities developing in the dry bulk market.
We see strong long-term demand for modern and efficient Japanese-built 82K DWT ships, while relatively few shipyards are willing to build vessels of this size. We believe this combination makes it an increasingly attractive segment and an important addition to DryDel’s future fleet.
The vessels will be NOx Tier III and EEDI Phase 3 compliant, with the latest energy-efficiency technologies to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
Since 2021, DryDel has placed more than 25 newbuilding orders with leading Japanese shipyards. We are especially proud that our investment programme now spans all major dry bulk segments, from Handysize to Capesize, reflecting our long-term commitment to building a diversified, modern and efficient fleet across the full range of dry bulk vessel sizes.
Over the next three years, through 2029, DryDel expects to take delivery of 13 newbuilding vessels, further expanding and modernizing the fleet across several dry bulk segments.
Our strategy remains consistent: not simply to grow the fleet, but to invest selectively in ships and segments where we see long-term value.
Commenting on the latest investment, DryDel CEO Costas Delaportas said:
